What is personal data?

Certain types of data reveal something about you, such as your name, address or age. If this data (or combination of data) can be linked to you, it is known as personal data. Examples include your postal or e-mail address, as well as your first name combined with your date of birth. If third parties gain possession of this personal data, they must handle it with care. For which purpose is personal data processed by ChoFleur?

It is mainly used for purely practical purposes, including all kinds of administrative processes linked to invoicing, offers, etc. If you enter into contact with us using a form on the website, we need your personal data so that we can get back in touch with you.

Data can also be used for promotional or marketing purposes, such as telling you about new projects or sending you information of a general nature. What if you do not wish to receive any information from us? You only have to click “Unsubscribe” in the e-mail that you have received. Your e-mail address will then be deleted and you will no longer receive any automatic e-mails from us until you re-subscribe.

Is unique personal data also processed by ChoFleur?

Unique personal data refers to sensitive data, such as information concerning a person’s health, criminal record, ethnic origin or race. We only process unique personal data if it is legally required, with your consent or if you ask us to do so. In the latter case, we only process this data if it is necessary in order to provide our service.

Who can access my personal data?

At ChoFleur, your personal data can only be consulted by ChoFleur employees.
ChoFleur cannot exchange data with third parties without the express consent of the relevant persons. How long will my data be stored?

Data linked to customers is kept for as long as necessary, so that administrative or accounting tasks can be completed. Data obtained using a form on this website is stored for as long as it is required for the relevant communication.

If you unsubscribe from the newsletters (for example, using MailChimp), e-mail addresses will be kept in limited form, so that statistical information can still be generated, such as the number of subscriptions over the years. No more e-mails will be sent to you automatically without your prior authorisation.

What does ChoFleur do with my data?

ChoFleur asks for your data in 5 situations:

(1) General contact form: we ask for your name and email address, so we can contact you again. Optionally you can also enter your telephone number if you prefer to be called. Finally, you can enter a message where you can formulate your question or comment. Your current IP address will also be stored to prevent abuse.
This data is kept until the end of the necessary communication.

(2) Registration webshop: to place an order with ChoFleur, you need an account. An account needs your email address, first and last name, address and a password. We also ask you for your telephone number so that you can quickly contact you in case of problems, and for your date of birth to give you a small gift for your birthday. Your current IP address will also be stored to prevent abuse.
This data is kept as long as your account is active.

(3) Webshop login: we ask for your email address and password. This data only serves to verify your account and will not be forwarded to ChoFleur. This data is stored in a cookie so that you are automatically logged in during the upcoming visits to our website.

(4) Password forgotten: here we only need your email address, an automatic mail is sent with a link with which you can set a new password. This data is not stored further.

(5) Placing an order: we receive a detail of your order, together with your general contact details. We need this information to be able to send your order. No payment information is shared with ChoFleur or stored with ChoFleur, your payment is fully processed by the payment platform Your current IP address will also be saved to prevent abuse.

Opt-out and right to be forgotten

ChoFleur may send you (automatic) messages, such as an acknowledgement following an enquiry or application, or an automatic reply if an employee is absent. It is not possible to unsubscribe from these service messages. ChoFleur considers them essential for a good user experience.
